SHAH ALAM: Port Klang assemblyman Badrul Hisham Abdullah earned the ire of Women’s Affairs, Welfare, Science, Technology and Innovation chairman Rodziah Ismail when he asked that importance be given to his constituency.

In his maiden question at the Selangor State Assembly, Badrul asked the state government to give importance to his constituency in the installation of a wireless network.

Peeved with Badrul’s request, Rodziah (PKR — Batu Tiga) side-stepped the question and slammed Badrul instead, saying he had not been serving his constituents in Port Klang since he was voted in 20 months ago.

“For me, I feel that I don’t have to answer the question from Port Klang as he had not done his job of communicating with the people in his area,” she said.

Earlier, Badrul had put in a written question to Rodziah on the progress of the wireless service in Port Klang.

Rodziah added that the Hybrid Wireless Infrastructure Network (HyWin) was now in its second and third phases and would be ready by early or mid 2011.

On Oct 29, Badrul resigned from Pakatan Rakyat after Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim called on him to vacate the seat if he had no interest in serving the people of Port Klang.
